Tourism and health resort treatment

Crimea combines favorable climatic conditions, unique natural phenomena, and centuries-long historical and cultural heritage.
The number of tourists who visited the Republic in 2017 was 5.4 million people, over 9 months of 2018 this number is already over 6 million.
The western coast of the region, in particular Yevpatoria, Saki, Saky, Chernomorsky, and Rozdolnensky districts has been the most popular this year. The offshore coastal strip is extended for 900 km, and a half of this strip may be used for beach recreation activities.Over 400 beaches are available in the summer season.
Mineral waters, therapeutic muds, beaches, warm climate, a variety of landscapes, sea and mountain air contribute to health resort treatment and rest.

In the Republic of Crimea there are almost 800 health resorts and spa hotels with health resort treatment or other health-improving practices for almost 157 thousand people.
Holiday hotels Mriya Resort & SPA, Crimea Breeze, Palmira Palace, Respect Halls, Porto Mare may be distinguished for the level of service. The number of travel companies operating in Crimea is about 500, and 90 of them are recorded in the Federal Register.
Transition to cluster development of the health resort and tourism sectors of economy will give an opportunity to form 6 tourism/recreation clusters in Yevpatoria, Saki, Koktebel, Kurortnoye and Olenevka villages, Bakhchysarai District with appropriate infrastructure.

A wide range of state support measures for investment activities is available in the region, as well as a wide choice of investment sites. In 2017 alone the support amounted to RUB 1.2 billion was granted in the sector. Key areas: creation of tourism clusters, infrastructure development, development of tourist products, and staff training. About 120 investment projects totaling to RUB 62 billion, mainly aimed at construction of new hotels, health resorts, holiday centers, and campsites, are being implemented in the Republic of Crimea.
